Leaded Bronze is a Bronze alloy with a higher Lead contents. It has very good sliding and emergency running properties and being used in mechanical engineering. Leaded bronze alloys offer excellent wear resistance (also against not perfectly smooth and soft shaft) and machineability therefore used for manufacturing of bearings and bushes-plain bearings.

CuSn7Pb15-C | Sn 6,0 - 8,0 Pb 13,0 - 17,0 Ni 0,5 - 2,0 Cu 74,0 - 80,0 | Soft bearing material with very good sliding and emergency running properties for lack of lubrication. Bearings with very high surface pressures. Not suitable for operating temperatures above 120 °C. Very good machinability. |
CuSn5Pb20-C | Sn 4,0 - 6,0 Pb 18,0 - 23,0 Ni 0,5 - 2,5 Cu 70,0 - 78,0 | Soft bearing material with very good sliding and emergency running properties for lack of lubrication. Bearings with very high surface pressures. |
CuSn5Pb9-C | Sn 4,0 - 6,0 Pb 8,0 - 10,0 Ni 0,5 - 2,5 Cu 80,0 - 87,0 | Soft material. Bearings when plasticity is required for the risk of scoring mating material. |
